EFFICIENT CUSTOMIZATION
Only Afxisi provides a Form Designer customization toolkit intended for non-technical users. This visual design environment allows authorized users to rearrange or completely modify a page's look and feel in a drag-and-drop environment. This Form Designer allows the user to customize forms, field names and overall page layout to suit the organization's preferences. The publishing process includes a "Revert" feature which permits the user to revert back to the last saved version of the form or the original Afxisi default form if necessary. For complete system control and flexibility, the Form Designer also includes an XML Editor in order to provide technical resources the capability to add user-defined custom behaviors, actions or rules to fields or screens.
THE NAVIGATOR DESIGNER
Afxisi's customization capabilities also include the modification of menus and tables. The "Menu Editor" allows users to modify the overall menuing structure - by user or role - so that features and functions not applicable to certain users can be removed from their view, thereby, resulting in a simpler system and increased ease of use. Similarly, the "Navigator Designer" allows authorized users to determine what tables should look like - by user or by role - throughout the system. For instance, each display table's properties can specified by user or role to determine what columns should appear in a table, what order the columns should be sequenced and what column headings should be used.
The Form Designer enhances overall system ease of use by removing fields that don't apply, changing field names to commonly used terms and positioning fields in a logical and intuitive fashion. Commonly used Form Editor examples include the following:
- Using the visual editor, the user can simply drag-and-drop fields from one location to a different location on the page.
- Users can change the names of fields
- Users can remove fields from the page that are not applicable to their environment.
- Users can create new fields, designate field type (e.g. text box, checkbox, dropdown list) and position them anywhere on the screen.
- Users can create entirely new pages and populate those pages with user-defined fields.
- For technical users, Afxisi provides an XML tab at the bottom of the page and standard XML editor so custom behaviors, actions or rules can be programmatically applied to a screen or field.
